Growing Pains

by admin on March 5, 2010

I had these when I was little…my feet would ache, and sometimes I would awake in the middle of the night. My mom always called them growing pains. For me, these growing pains meant ditching my treasured Airwalks and getting “sensible” Adidas tennis shoes. (P.S. I hate wearing tennis shoes now. I live for sandals and heels.)

Now there are new growing pains in my life. MJ2 Marketing is experiencing growing pains, but this time around, these growing pains are fun!

I am not certain what Megan would say, as she has had the worry and heartache over employee contracts, salaries, profit models, taxes, office space, web issues, etc… all in a matter of five short months.

But from where I sit (the proverbial “Millennial” seat in the office), I see this as exciting, dynamic, and a complete blast! Just last week, I was chartered with expanding our office corridor, so a speedy trip to Ikea was necessary…me in my flip-flops, enjoying the Friday afternoon ride. We worked tirelessly through the weekend to get everything in place. I have to say- our new digs look awesome!

It is comforting to know that MJ2 Marketing is not alone. Most, if not all of the company’s we are dealing with are experiencing growing pains as well. It appears that the most likely spot of growth is in their online strategy. As companies realize the exponential value of having an online content marketing strategy, they also realize that they need the skills and daily resource to keep up with their online growing pains.

Just this week, while on site with our strategy and community management expertise, our client, realized that the website they tenuously updated just one year ago, was in need of a home page overhaul and keyword strategy. They understand the value of content marketing, thank goodness. Their growing pains will lead to a robust blog, a social marketing platform, and search mechanisms that will help to grow their business. I am once again, excited about these growing pains, and to be a part of their development.
